I dove into *Chronophobia* expecting a snappy sci-fi thriller, but Courtney delivered something far more unsettling—a cross between *The Twilight Zone* and *Succession*, with a splash of *The Shining*’s slow-burn dread. The premise alone—time as a commodity sold to the highest bidder—is enough to hook you, but it’s the execution that stuns. The Blue Ring Resort feels like a five-star prison, where every guest is both prisoner and predator. The protagonist, a journalist chasing a lead on the resort’s shady past, is a compelling cipher—competent but increasingly unmoored, her skepticism crumbling under the weight of the resort’s surreal physics. Adara Bryan’s narration is a masterclass in tonal control. She nails the protagonist’s dry skepticism in early scenes, then twists her voice into something jagged and desperate as the mystery unravels. The sound design is minimal but effective, with subtle echoes and reverb amplifying the isolation. My only quibble? The ending feels rushed, like Courtney was eager to wrap things up rather than let the dread fully sink in. Still, *Chronophobia* is a knockout listen—short, sharp, and impossible to pause once it grabs you. If you love your thrillers with a side of existential horror, this is your next addiction.
