One of the standout aspects of the audiobook is its willingness to tackle tougher themes - the consequences of trauma, the weight of responsibility, and the complexities of redemption. Where lesser writers might shy away from these heavy subjects, Leroux confronts them head-on, imbuing the narrative with a sense of authenticity that's both heartbreaking and inspiring. That being said, there are moments where the pacing feels slightly uneven - particularly during the book's second act, where the plot threads start to get a bit jumbled. Additionally, some listeners may find Ethan's character to be a tad too brooding at times, which can make it hard to fully connect with him on an emotional level. However, these are minor quibbles in an otherwise exceptional audiobook.
