By the time Shaun’s forced to sprint through a labyrinth of fire traps—while his "max health" bar hovers at 12%—Gilliland’s performance becomes a tour de force of physical exertion, switching from guttural grunts to terrified screams in a single breath. The man’s range is staggering; he makes the innumerable secondary characters—from a snarky AI therapist to a battle-hardened barbarian with a drinking problem—distinct enough that you’ll never confuse them in your headphones. That said, the pacing occasionally stumbles where Sinclair’s humor clashes with the story’s darker turns. There’s a moment mid-Trilogy 2 where Shaun’s forced to make an irreversible choice, and the tonal shift from gallows comedy to gut-punch drama feels abrupt, like a sitcom actor suddenly asked to deliver Hamlet. The production itself is pristine, with no audible mouth clicks or editing artifacts, but the abridged version of *Condition Evolution 3* leaves you craving the full original text—some subplots feel rushed in the final act.
