I’ll admit, I approached *Thus Spoke Zarathustra* with the same caution I reserve for vegan meat substitutes—skeptical and half-convinced it’s all a stunt. But William Angiuli’s narration flipped the script for me. His voice is the audiobook equivalent of a charismatic cult leader: you know he’s dangerous, but you can’t look away. There were moments, especially in the denser allegorical passages, where I found myself rewinding just to catch the wit or the sheer audacity of Nietzsche’s claims. The way Angiuli phrases, for example, the famous line about the "death of God" sent a shiver down my spine—it wasn’t just a declaration, it was a eulogy with a smirk. That said, this isn’t a book for the faint of heart. Nietzsche’s prose is deliberately challenging, filled with metaphors that feel like riddles and ideas that chafe against modern sensibilities. Angiuli’s performance, while stellar, can’t fully paper over the book’s structural quirks—repetitive motifs and abrupt tonal shifts made some sections feel like a marathon. And while the narration elevates the experience, it’s easy to get lost in the abstractions, leaving you wondering if you’re grasping the point or just nodding along. Still, if you’re willing to wrestle with it, this audiobook delivers a rare intellectual adrenaline rush. Just don’t expect to feel the same after finishing.
