Cruel Magic

As I dove into the world of Cruel Magic, I found myself drawn into the rich and complex narrative, thanks to the exceptional narration by Meg Sylvan and Stephen Dexter. Their voices expertly brought the characters to life, with Sylvan's portrayal of the headstrong protagonist Rory and Dexter's depiction of the enigmatic mage Zephyr particularly memorable. Chase's writing is sharp and engaging, effortlessly blending elements of science fiction and fantasy with a scorching paranormal romance. The pacing of the audiobook is near-perfect, keeping listeners on the edge of their seats as they follow Rory's journey through the treacherous halls of Villain Academy. My only critique would be that some of the exposition-heavy passages could have been trimmed slightly to maintain a brisker pace. Overall, however, Cruel Magic is a must-listen for fans of dark academia and captivating paranormal romance.
