Cruel Vows

I went into *Cruel Vows* expecting the usual taboo-heavy erotica, but Bianca Cole served up something far more unsettling—and far more compelling. Hamilton’s narration is the star here, his voice a dark velvet rasp that turns even the most brutal scenes into something hypnotic. His interpretation of the enforcer is so chillingly charismatic that I found myself both repulsed and weirdly invested in his twisted redemption arc. Sparks, meanwhile, nails the heroine’s whiplash of emotions—her fear, her reluctant fascination, her bruised pride—with a fragility that makes her eventual submission feel earned, not coerced. That said, the middle act drags a bit, with repetitious scenes of her internal conflict that could’ve been tightened to keep the pace razor-sharp. The production quality is top-tier, though, with immersive sound design that places you right in that sticky, neon-lit bar. If you’re here for vanilla romance, turn back now. But if you want your audiobooks to leave you squirming in your seat, this one’s a knockout.
