Sienna Frances’s narration is a masterclass in tone-setting—her Ash is all clipped, no-nonsense challenge, while her Grace is a breathy, almost tremulous counterpoint that makes the chemistry sizzle. The way she delivers Grace’s internal monologues, especially when grappling with her sexuality mid-sentence, is gutting. The production is crisp, with no muffled dialogue or artificial reverb, so you’re never straining to hear a line. That said, the pacing occasionally stumbles in the final act, where Brooks leans hard into melodrama, turning what should feel inevitable into a bit of a slog. Still, the payoff hits hard: the slow burn of Ash’s thawing, the push-pull of Grace’s self-discovery, and the unapologetic joy of them finding their way together is worth the stumbles.
