Date with a Devil

I devoured 'Date with a Devil' in a single, blissful listening session. Devon Grace and Troy Duran are a dream team, their chemistry palpable as they bring Austen and Austen to life. Grace's Austen is delightfully snarky, while Duran's Austen is a perfect balance of rugged and vulnerable. The narration is so engaging that it's easy to overlook some of the story's minor cliches, like the instant attraction and the obligatory grand gesture. But who cares when the journey is this much fun? The pacing is spot-on, with just the right balance of humor, tension, and steam. Plus, the hockey scenes are surprisingly engaging, even for non-sports fans like me. My only critique? I wish we'd seen more of Austen's growth as a character. But that's a small quibble in an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable listen.
