This depth adds a rich layer of complexity to the story, making it feel less like a straightforward thriller and more like a nuanced exploration of human nature in crisis. Editor's Review ★★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

As I listened to 'Day Zero', I found myself drawn into the world of these two families, desperate to survive in a world on the brink of collapse. Lucy Rayner's narration was a big part of what made this possible - her clear, expressive delivery brought the characters to life and created a sense of urgency that was impossible to shake. At its best, the story was a real page-turner, with a breakneck pace that kept me on the edge of my seat. But there were also moments when I felt like the plot was feeling a bit predictable - I'd seen similar twists and turns before in other thrillers, and they didn't quite feel as surprising or impactful here. Still, the strengths of the story and the narration more than made up for the weaknesses. Overall, I'd recommend 'Day Zero' to fans of apocalyptic fiction and high-stakes thrillers - just be aware that it's not without its flaws.
