Deadly Don's Bad Boy Boxset

I went into this boxset expecting the usual Mafia romance tropes, but Raven delivers something far more visceral. The first story, *Revenge in Blood*, is a masterclass in slow-burn aggression—Tomaso doesn’t whisper promises; he growls them while holding a knife to your throat. The narration, handled by Virtual Voice, is unsettling in the best way: it’s devoid of warmth, which mirrors the emotional temperature of these men. They don’t do tenderness; they do control. The pacing is relentless, with each novella clocking in under 4 hours but feeling like a marathon of tension. My only gripe? The production quality is inconsistent—Tomaso’s narration had a slight echo that made it feel like he was narrating from inside a tin can, while Luca’s performance was smoother, almost hypnotic. Still, the stories are so addictive that the technical hiccups fade into the background. If you’re here for redemption arcs or soft hearts, this isn’t your book. But if you want Mafia men who are as lethal as they are loyal (to their own warped code), Raven nails it.
