Michael Fell's narration is a huge part of this, bringing an infectious enthusiasm that perfectly matches the story's lighthearted, humorous moments. However, I found the pacing to dip slightly in the third act, where things start to feel a tad too convenient – but that's a minor quibble in an otherwise engaging, thought-provoking listen. One of the aspects that truly sets Declared apart is its thoughtful exploration of what it means to be creative, to be true to oneself, and to find love in the unlikeliest of places. It's a testament to Burns' skill as a writer that even the supporting characters feel fully fleshed out and memorable.
