Demon from the Dark

This audiobook is brought to life with Robert Petkoff's electrifying narration. He masterfully inhabits the dark, brooding Slaine, conveying his centuries of pain, anger, and simmering possessiveness without a hint of caricature. His portrayal of Kaelle is equally strong – fiercely independent yet vulnerable, passionate, and radiating an undeniable power that commands respect. The chemistry crackles between them, made even more potent by Petkoff's ability to switch tones instantaneously, moving from Slaine's menacing growl to Kaelle's fiery defiance. The pace is generally excellent, keeping the intricate plot involving ancient feuds, soul-bonds, and monstrous threats moving forward at a breakneck speed that fits the genre perfectly. Petkoff handles the numerous characters and dialogue with dexterity, ensuring clarity even during complex scenes. That said, while the central story is handled well, occasionally the pacing dips slightly when introducing too many plot threads too quickly, and I found myself wishing for slightly more depth in some of the supporting characters. Overall, a fantastic addition to the series, expertly narrated and a must-listen for fans of paranormal romance and dark fantasy.
