I was hooked from the moment Vicky's abduction was revealed, and Rune Stefansson didn't disappoint. The story is a tense, fast-paced ride through the icy wasteland, with twists that come at you like sudden blizzards. Morten Rønnelund's narration is exceptional, his ability to convey the cold, desolate atmosphere and the desperation of the characters making the story all the more immersive. The only downside is that some of the scientific explanations feel a tad heavy-handed, but it's a small price to pay for such a thrilling ride. If you're looking for a thriller that's as thought-provoking as it is exciting, 'Den sidste olie' is a must-listen.
