I went into Dirty Cowboys expecting a romantic tale, but what I got was so much more. Jaye Pratt's writing is unflinching and honest, tackling topics like trauma, family secrets, and first love with a sensitivity and nuance that's rare in genre fiction. The narrative is expertly paced, hurtling towards a climax that's both surprising and inevitable. One thing that did feel a bit rushed was the resolution of the supporting characters' storylines – I would have loved to see more development of their arcs. That being said, the performances from the entire cast are outstanding, and the world of Copper Creek feels so vivid and real that I found myself getting lost in the story. Overall, Dirty Cowboys is a gripping, emotional listen that's not to be missed.
