I was hooked from the moment Birdy James walked onto the scene. Archer's creation of a centenarian sleuth is a breath of fresh air, and Davis Way Cole is a narrator you can't help but root for. Amber Benson's narration is pitch-perfect, bringing the quirky characters and vibrant setting to life. The pacing is excellent, with just the right balance of humor and suspense. My only critique is that some of the secondary characters could have been a bit more fully realized, but that's a small complaint in an otherwise engaging listen. If you're looking for a mystery that's equal parts charming and thrilling, 'Double Trouble' is a sure bet.
