Dracula [Audible Edition]

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read *Dracula* on the page, but listening to this Audible edition cracked open a new dimension of terror. The standout here is Tim Curry, whose Renfield is a masterclass in escalating lunacy—his voice cracks between desperate pleading and cackling insanity in a way that had me gripping my headphones tighter. Alan Cumming’s Dracula is a revelation, too; his initial suavity gives way to something far more animalistic as the story progresses, and his performance alone justifies giving this audiobook a spin. That said, the sheer number of narrators can feel disjointed at times, especially in the early sections where shifting voices between minor characters momentarily yanks you out of the immersion. The production values are top-notch, though, with eerie sound design that makes even the quietest passages feel loaded. My only real complaint? The runtime. At over 15 hours, it’s a commitment—but if you’re a horror fan, the payoff is worth every minute. This isn’t just a retelling; it’s a full-body experience.
