I devoured Dragonkyn: Expanded Edition, completely enthralled by the unpredictable trajectory of the story and Nathan Smith Jones's engaging narration. Jones expertly balances tone, shifting seamlessly from the lighthearted camaraderie of the Dragonkyn's early days to the darker, more foreboding undertones as the stakes grow higher. His performance elevates the narrative, imbuing each pivotal moment with emotional weight. One of the notable strengths of this audiobook is its deft handling of character development, making it easy to become invested in the lives and motivations of the Dragonkyn. That being said, I occasionally found some of the supporting characters' subplots to feel somewhat underdeveloped. While the Dragonkyn themselves and their leaders are richly drawn, some of the secondary figures feel more like shadowy outlines rather than fully fleshed-out members of the cast. Despite this minor quibble, the production quality of Dragonkyn: Expanded Edition is first-rate, with crisp soundscapes and an intuitive narrative flow.
