The delivery never sags, even when Weaver breezes through less familiar minor deities, which is a feat in a 65-minute runtime. That said, the audiobook’s brevity comes at a cost. Some myths, like the *Contendings of Horus and Set*, feel truncated, skipping key details that make the conflict genuinely thrilling. And while Weaver’s prose is clean, a handful of passages—particularly around the Book of the Dead—veer into vague spiritual platitudes that lack the punch of, say, the raw vengeance in the *Destruction of Mankind*. The production quality is solid, with no distracting audio artifacts, though the occasional abrupt fade-out between chapters disrupts the immersion.
