I wasn’t sure what to expect from a mythology trilogy packed into a single audiobook, but Stephan Weaver and Bill Conway delivered more than I bargained for. Conway’s narration is the real MVP here—his voice has a velvety richness that makes even the most convoluted Norse sagas feel intimate. He doesn’t just read the myths; he *performs* them, slipping into different tones for gods, monsters, and hapless mortals alike. The Greek section shines brightest, with Conway’s dry wit making Zeus’s antics feel like a divine soap opera. The Norse myths, by contrast, benefit from his ability to convey the darker, more brutal energy of Viking lore—think gnashing teeth and blood feuds. "Where the audiobook stumbles is in its pacing—some myths feel rushed, especially the Egyptian ones, which get the shortest shrift. A few more details about the Ennead or the weighing of the heart would’ve been welcome, but the brevity also keeps the listen snappy. Production-wise, the audio is crisp and well-balanced, though occasional background music feels unnecessary. Still, for a three-hour crash course in world mythology, this is a surprisingly satisfying listen. I walked away with a new appreciation for how these stories overlap, and Conway’s performance made me feel like I was hearing them for the first time. If you’re on the fence, give the Greek section a spin first—it’s the strongest of the three.
