I approached 'Eine Vorhaut klagt an' with some trepidation, as stories about religion and family can often veer into heavy or preachy territory. But Auslander's humor is a breath of fresh air, and Krüger's narration is pitch-perfect. She captures the author's dry wit and delivers each punchline with perfect timing. The stories are paced beautifully, with just the right amount of detail to paint a clear picture without bogging down the narrative. My only critique is that some of the stories feel a bit too similar in structure, but this is a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent collection.
