What struck me most was how much of their relationship is revealed through what *isn’t* said. The father’s stoicism, Nick’s burgeoning strength, even the storm itself—it’s all implied rather than spelled out, which makes López’s narration all the more crucial. He nails the delivery, his voice a steady anchor in the chaos. When the storm finally breaks, there’s a sense of relief that’s almost physical, and I found myself exhaling right along with the characters. That said, I did find myself wanting *more*—not in length, but in texture. The storm’s buildup is masterful, but the resolution felt almost too abrupt, like Hemingway snatched the ending right out of necessity rather than choice. López’s performance is solid, but the production could’ve used a touch more atmospheric layering to make the storm’s presence feel even more oppressive. These are minor quibbles in an otherwise gripping listen.
