I’ll be honest: I approached *Elemental Summoner 4-6* skeptical of yet another ‘harem fantasy’—but Levesque subverts expectations at every turn. The polyamorous dynamic isn’t just window dressing; it’s a source of real tension, humor, and even strategic advantage in a world where alliances are everything. Take Book 5’s infamous ‘negotiation scene’ (you’ll know it when you hear it), where Leeha’s diplomatic ruthlessness clashes with Bridget’s empathy, and Alex is caught in the middle. It’s a brilliant character moment that also advances the plot—no small feat in a genre often bogged down by either mindless action or soap-opera drama. The narration elevates the material significantly. Gilliland’s Alex grows noticeably wearier by Book 6, his voice roughening in a way that mirrors the character’s physical and emotional toll.
