Fallout

R.C. Bray nails the narration in *Fallout*, transforming what could’ve been another bloated military sci-fi epic into a gripping, character-driven marathon. His delivery oscillates between the gruff authority of a battle-hardened captain and the exhausted sarcasm of a man who’s realized the universe has no shortage of idiots with bigger guns. The pacing is exquisite—Alanson’s writing doesn’t waste time on filler, and Bray matches its urgency with precision. My only quibbles? A couple of supporting characters blur together in the later arcs, and the sheer volume of tech jargon occasionally clogs the dialogue. But the production quality is top-tier, with crisp audio that makes every explosion and whispered argument feel tangible. The story’s moral gray areas are its strongest suit: no one’s purely heroic, and the ‘bad guys’ aren’t cartoonish. If you’re here for sanitized space opera, look elsewhere. If you want a story that chews up expectations and spits out something raw and satisfying, hit play.
