Families First

As I listened to 'Families First', I was struck by the sheer immediacy of the narrative. Block's narration is nothing short of exceptional, his voice weathered and worn, perfectly capturing the desperation and determination of the characters. The pacing is breakneck, yet Ewing masterfully weaves in moments of quiet reflection, allowing the devastating reality of the situation to sink in. The story is not without its flaws - at times, the dialogue can feel a tad too on-the-nose, and some secondary characters could use more development. However, these minor critiques do little to detract from the overall impact of this powerful tale of survival and family. This is not just a dystopian thriller; it's a cautionary tale that will leave you questioning what you'd do if the lights went out for good.
