About This Audiobook

Geo’s first day as a camp counselor is a disaster—until the camp’s resident grump, Jake, strides into view. With sun-kissed grit and a glare that could strip paint, Jake is every bit the rugged outdoor type Geo never expected to crash into. But when Geo’s new foster kids, Jayden and Lucy, latch onto Jake like he’s the camp’s savior, Geo finds himself playing second fiddle—until Jake’s sharp tongue and sharper wit make Geo question who’s really in charge. This isn’t the wholesome family camp Geo signed up for; it’s a tinderbox of simmering attraction, reluctant guardianship, and the kind of chemistry that doesn’t need a campfire to ignite.

Eli Easton delivers a rom-com steeped in authenticity, where the wilderness becomes a metaphor for the chaos of blending a family—and the way those lines blur when hearts are involved. Narrator Matthew Shaw turns this into an audiobook that crackles with energy, his voice shifting effortlessly between Geo’s flustered earnestness, Jake’s gruff charisma, and the kids’ infectious enthusiasm. Shaw’s pacing breathes life into the story, making the 7-hour runtime feel like a lazy afternoon by the lake—until the tension snaps, leaving you breathless.

AudioBook Atlas

I’ll admit, I was skeptical when I first pressed play on *Family Camp*. A romance set at a family-friendly summer camp? Sounded like a recipe for cliché overload. But Eli Easton’s sharp dialogue and Matthew Shaw’s stellar narration turned my skepticism into pure enjoyment. Shaw’s performance is the secret sauce here—he nails the camp counselor Jake’s gruff, no-nonsense demeanor with a voice that could melt glaciers, while Geo’s exasperated but hopeful tone keeps the story grounded in relatable chaos. The kids, Jayden and Lucy, steal scenes left and right with their big personalities, and Shaw gives them just the right amount of sass and heart. That said, the story occasionally stumbles when it leans too hard into the “opposites attract” trope without enough fresh wrinkles to keep it from feeling familiar. A few side characters blur into the background, and the camp’s conflict resolution feels a little too tidy. But Easton’s knack for snappy banter and Shaw’s dynamic delivery make up for it, turning what could’ve been a lightweight fling into a rom-com with real emotional stakes. If you love your romances with a side of “how did these two end up here?” energy and a narrator who makes it all feel effortless, this one’s worth the listen.
