I was immediately drawn into Joshua James's world of galactic politics and high-stakes action. James Fouhey's narration was a key factor in this, bringing a level of energy and enthusiasm to the story that perfectly captured the pace and tone. His voice is well-suited to the genre, conveying a sense of authority and gravitas that suits the more serious moments in the narrative. While the story is engaging and the pacing is well-handled, there were moments where I felt the supporting characters were somewhat one-dimensional. However, as the narrative progressed and the stakes grew higher, these characters began to develop and take on more depth. The production quality is solid, with clear sound and good sound design that enhances the overall listening experience. Overall, I was impressed by the world-building and the sense of urgency that permeates the story – making this a compelling listen for young fans of science fiction.
