He handles the technical jargon—from aviation mechanics to forensic science—without stumbling, and his pacing gives even the densest sections momentum. The real triumph, though, is how he balances Gillespie’s investigative rigor with the emotional weight of Earhart’s story. Lenz never falls into the trap of over-dramatizing; instead, he lets the material’s inherent tension shine through, whether he’s recounting the moment Earhart’s plane vanished from the sky or dissecting the U.S. Navy’s bungled search efforts. My only critiques? The production quality dips slightly in the final third, where background noise creeps in during quieter passages—a minor frustration in an otherwise polished performance. And while Gillespie’s argument is compelling, I wished he’d spent more time exploring the human side of Earhart’s crew and family.
