The River Is Waiting (Oprah's Book Club)

Jeremy Sisto’s narration in 'The River Is Waiting' is nothing short of exceptional. His ability to convey the raw emotions of the protagonist, Jake, elevates every scene, making the listener feel deeply involved in his struggles and triumphs. The pacing is just right—slowing down during introspective moments while picking up speed as events unfold. Wally Lamb’s narrative explores complex themes with a masterful touch, but it's Sisto who makes these ideas resonate on an emotional level. However, the audiobook could benefit from clearer distinctions between Jake and other characters; at times, their voices are too similar to differentiate easily.
