Wishin' and Hopin'

Wishing I could be Felix’s age again, thanks to Wally Lamb’s masterful performance. His voice perfectly encapsulates Felix’s youthful curiosity and budding sense of self. The story weaves together threads of love, loss, and the trials of parochial school in a way that feels both familiar and fresh. However, at times, the narrative can feel overly descriptive, slowing down the pacing slightly. Despite this, the audiobook remains an intimate and heartfelt exploration that will tug at your heartstrings. Lamb’s ability to convey Felix’s internal monologue with such depth and sincerity is truly commendable.
