Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

As I listened to Jonathan Davis's masterful narration of Galapagos, I found myself torn between laughing out loud at Vonnegut's wicked humor and cringing at the uncomfortable truths he reveals about our species. Davis brings a remarkable range to his performance, effortlessly conveying the various voices and personas that inhabit this wildly imaginative world. One minor quibble I had was that the audiobook's pacing felt slightly uneven at times, with some sections feeling a tad rushed and others dragging just a hair too far behind. However, this is a minor complaint in what's otherwise a tour de force of absurdist storytelling. Where Vonnegut really shines is in his uncanny ability to skewer the absurdities of modern life while still maintaining a deep affection for humanity in all its flawed, fumbling glory.
