A standout moment is Fielding’s interpretation of the Weighing of the Heart ceremony; her hushed reverence for Ammit’s gnashing jaws sent a delicious shiver down my spine, even though I’ve heard the story a dozen times. If I have one gripe, the chapter on Osiris feels slightly rushed compared to the others, and the production occasionally flirts with echo that muddles Fielding’s crisp diction. Still, these are small stumbles on a walkway lined with gold. This audiobook turns what could feel like homework into pure, mythic fun, and Fielding’s performance is the icing on the pyramid.
