Marie Force doesn’t let you look away from the ugliness of grief, and that’s what makes the love story feel so *necessary*. The 9/11 backdrop isn’t just window dressing; it’s the lens through which Jenny sees the world, and Force handles it with a respect that never feels exploitative. That said, the middle act drags a touch—Jenny’s internal monologues about trust can start to feel repetitive, like the story’s spinning its wheels before the inevitable emotional climax. But then there’s Holly Fielding, who elevates this from ‘good’ to ‘unputdownable.’ Her performance is *layered*—she nails Jenny’s brittle strength, but it’s the secondary characters (especially the gruff, guarded love interest) where she really shines. The production quality is flawless, though I’d dock half a point for the occasional overuse of breathy pauses during tense scenes—it’s effective once or twice, but starts to feel like a crutch. Still, by the final act, I was fully invested. This isn’t a romance that ties up neatly; it’s messy, honest, and all the more satisfying for it.
