Gone Country

I devoured Gone Country in one sitting, drawn in by Alexa Elmy's engaging narration and the story's winning blend of humor and heart. Elmy's performance is pitch-perfect, capturing Stella's sass and vulnerability with ease. The story itself is a joy to follow, with a relatable protagonist and a romance that unfolds at a satisfying pace. One of the things that really works is the way the author balances humor and emotional depth - it's a tricky tightrope to walk, but Katrina Marie pulls it off with aplomb. My only minor quibble is that some of the supporting characters feel a bit one-dimensional, and I would have loved a bit more world-building around the country setting. Still, these are minor complaints in an otherwise delightful listen.
