Editor's Review ★★★☆

AudioBook Atlas

As an audiobook editor, I was intrigued by Gotcha Cold Case, and Eddie Frierson's narration did not disappoint. His smooth, easy-to-follow delivery made it easy to become immersed in Schlerf's story, and his ability to convey the author's humor and wit was a highlight of the production. I particularly appreciated the way Frierson handled the more somber moments, bringing a sense of gravity and respect to the narrative. One area where the production could be improved is in the pacing, which sometimes felt a bit uneven. Certain sections of the audiobook felt like they dragged on a bit too long, and I found myself wishing for a slightly faster pace to keep things moving. Additionally, I felt like some of the supporting characters could have been fleshed out a bit more. While Schlerf is clearly the star of the show, his colleagues and family members are relegated to the background, which can make it difficult to connect with them on an emotional level. Despite these criticisms, however, I found Gotcha Cold Case to be a compelling and thought-provoking listen, and I would recommend it to fans of true crime and memoir.
