About This Audiobook

John Lescroart's 'Guilt' is a gripping legal thriller that's as much about moral ambiguity as it is about crime and punishment. At its heart lies Mark Dooher, a seemingly upstanding San Francisco attorney and devout Catholic, whose life takes a dark turn when he's accused of a brutal crime. David Colacci's narration is a standout, bringing a sense of gravitas and tension to the story that's as engaging as it is unsettling. What sets this audiobook apart is its exploration of faith, power, and guilt, making it a thought-provoking listen that's as compelling as it is disturbing.

Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

Listening to 'Guilt' is like being on a rollercoaster ride through San Francisco's foggiest streets. David Colacci's narration is top-notch, his ability to capture the essence of each character, from the conflicted Mark Dooher to the enigmatic detective, is nothing short of impressive. The story itself is a masterclass in suspense, with Lescroart expertly peeling back the layers of his protagonist's life, revealing a man who's far from the saint he appears to be. The pacing is near-perfect, with just the right amount of legal jargon to make the courtroom scenes feel authentic without losing the listener. However, I did find some of the plot twists a tad predictable, and I wish Lescroart had taken more risks with the ending. Overall, though, 'Guilt' is a gripping listen that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
