About This Audiobook

Jonathan Swift's classic satire, Gulliver's Travels, comes alive in this AmazonClassics Edition, narrated with panache by Michael Page. Page's performance is the star here, his voice shifting effortlessly between the wide-eyed Gulliver and the bizarre creatures he encounters. From the Lilliputians, tiny yet fierce, to the equine Houyhnhnms, Swift's imaginative world is brought to life with vivid detail. This isn't your typical stuffy classic; it's a lively, often hilarious adventure that's perfect for both teens and adults.

Editor's Review ★★★★

AudioBook Atlas

I was immediately drawn into Gulliver's Travels by Michael Page's narration. He perfectly captures the bewilderment and wonder of Gulliver, an everyman thrust into extraordinary circumstances. Page's ability to distinguish between characters is impressive, from the high-pitched Lilliputians to the deep, resonant Houyhnhnms. The pacing is spot-on, capturing the humor and absurdity of Swift's satire without losing the underlying social commentary. However, I found the fourth voyage, while thought-provoking, to be the weakest in terms of narrative drive. Overall, this is a fantastic audiobook that makes a classic accessible and enjoyable.
