Heartsong

Kirt Graves’ narration is a standout feature that elevates Heartsong well beyond its genre. With his ability to shift between the nuanced voices of various characters—each with their own unique cadence and tonality—he creates an almost three-dimensional world within the audiobook. The story itself is both tender and intense, painting vivid scenes of Robbie’s emotional journey as he learns to find belonging among his pack in Caswell, Maine. The pacing is deliberate, allowing each moment to resonate deeply with listeners. However, at times, the narrative slows down too much during quieter moments, which can be slightly tedious. Despite this minor quibble, the overall experience of Heartsong remains profoundly satisfying and thoroughly engaging.
