Haynesbridge and Mallon trade lines with a rhythm that mirrors breathless attraction, while Easton’s nasal, smug cadence (yes, it *works* here) and Kieran’s gravelly tones add layers to the men’s personalities that the text alone couldn’t convey. That said, the production isn’t flawless. A few of the background sounds—footsteps, car engines—felt overlaid rather than integrated, which occasionally pulled me out of the immersion. And while Hunt’s writing thrives on ambiguity, some of the later reveals about the trafficking ring’s reach felt a bit convenient, as if the plot needed a quick jolt of stakes. But these are minor quibbles. By the final chapter, I was clenching my fists, desperate for Lena to make a choice—any choice—as the audiobook’s climax hit like a freight train.
