I was hooked from the get-go with 'High Stakes Crime'. Wendy Tremont King's narration is spot-on, perfectly capturing Shelby's voice and making her a character you can't help but root for. The story is a rollercoaster of twists and turns, with a plot that's as clever as it is unpredictable. I found myself on the edge of my seat, eager to find out what Shelby would uncover next. However, I did feel that some secondary characters could have used more development to fully round out the world. Overall, though, this is a fantastic listen that I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a suspenseful, entertaining mystery.
