Horror for Weenies

As someone who's always been curious about horror but too chicken to dive in, Horror for Weenies was a godsend. Hughes' knowledge is evident, but she never talks down to the listener. She breaks down complex films like 'Rosemary's Baby' and 'The Exorcist', explaining their impact and themes without resorting to cheap scares. Brown's narration is fantastic, her voice shifting seamlessly between informative and excited, making even the driest film theory engaging. The pacing is spot on, never lingering too long on one film, keeping the listener engaged and eager to learn more. My only critique? I wish there was more context on the directors and actors behind these iconic films. But that's a minor quibble in an otherwise excellent audiobook.
