I've listened to my fair share of rom-coms, but 'Hot Mess Summer' truly stands out. Foster's writing is fresh and funny, with a plot that's equal parts predictable and surprising. The story moves at a great pace, never feeling rushed or drawn out. As for the narration, Ava Erickson and Aaron Shedlock are a dream team. Erickson's voice is perfect for our leading lady, capturing her sarcastic wit and emotional depth. Shedlock, meanwhile, brings a charming, rugged quality to the hero that had me swooning. My only critique? I wish we'd gotten a bit more of their chemistry in the final act. But that's a small complaint in an otherwise fantastic listen. If you're looking for a summer romance that's as hot as its title, look no further.
