Their dynamic is a push-pull of two people who’ve been burned by life but can’t stop circling each other. The pacing stumbles slightly in the middle during a subplot involving club politics (which feels a bit like a detour from the core relationship), but the emotional payoff in the final act more than makes up for it. The narration is where this audiobook *shines*. Savannah Peachwood’s performance as Tracey is outstanding—she nails the character’s mix of defiance and exhaustion, especially in the scenes where Tracey’s past trauma surfaces. Jacob Morgan’s Diesel, meanwhile, avoids the pitfall of sounding like a cartoon tough guy; his delivery softens just enough in private moments to sell the character’s hidden tenderness. My only critique? The sound effects (revving bikes, crowd noise) are immersive but occasionally *too* loud, forcing me to adjust the volume mid-chapter.
