I was drawn into Il buio fuori like a moth to a flame, and once I was in, there was no escaping the chilling, desolate world Cormac McCarthy has created. Gianluca Izzo's narration is a standout feature of this audiobook. His measured, almost whispered delivery perfectly captures the bleak, haunting atmosphere of the story. He brings a raw, visceral intensity to the characters, making their desperation and despair all the more palpable. The pacing is relentless, driving the listener forward with an almost physical urgency. The only critique I have is that the lack of chapter breaks can make it difficult to pause without losing your place. But this is a small price to pay for such a compelling listen.
