Stephanie Terry’s narration is the secret weapon here—her voice crackles with the kind of effortless charisma that makes Torin’s dry wit and Raine’s fiery determination impossible to resist. She nails the balance between snark and sincerity, especially in scenes where Raine’s sarcasm clashes with Torin’s godly aloofness. The pacing, too, deserves praise; Terry never drags, and her delivery keeps the audiobook’s 14-hour runtime zipping along like a lightning bolt. That said, the middle act stumbles slightly when the mythology gets dense—Terry’s tone stays bright, but some of the lore-heavy passages could’ve benefited from a slower, more deliberate pace. The production is crisp, with subtle soundscapes that underscore the supernatural elements without ever overpowering the dialogue. If you’re a fan of YA romance with a mythological twist, this is a slam dunk. Just be prepared for your crush to suddenly feel like a demigod.
