Having listened to the entire audiobook, I can confidently say that Gregory Dwyer's narration is one of the highlights of this production. His ability to capture the essence of each character and convey their emotions through his voice truly brings the story to life. The pacing is well-executed, keeping me engaged throughout the 7-hour and 37-minute runtime. One particular aspect that stood out to me was the vivid portrayal of early Sydney's larrikin life. Stone's detailed descriptions of the city's underbelly and the various characters inhabiting it made me feel as though I was walking the streets alongside Jonah and his companions. However, at times, the story did feel a bit slow-paced, making it challenging to maintain a consistent level of excitement and engagement. Despite this, the audiobook remains a captivating listen, thanks in large part to Dwyer's exceptional narration. If you're a fan of action-packed stories set in unique historical settings, Jonah is definitely worth your time.
