Abby Craden’s narration is nothing short of spectacular; her ability to shift between characters with seamless grace adds an extra layer of suspense to T.M. Cromer’s masterfully crafted plot. The pacing is impeccable—slow enough to build a sinister atmosphere but fast enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. The supernatural elements are both thrilling and unsettling, especially when Alastair's dark magic starts to unravel. A specific critique: while the narrative excels in creating tension, some of the character development could benefit from more depth, occasionally feeling one-dimensional despite their pivotal roles.
