Bauer’s narration sells it: his pacing mirrors Greene’s urgency, slowing down for critical aha! moments (like the difference between “can’t” and “won’t”) and speeding up through the tactical steps so you don’t zone out. The production is clean, but I’ll nitpick: the lack of chapter markers for the case studies makes it tricky to revisit specific examples later. And while Greene’s repetition of key phrases (“kids do well if *they can*”) drives the point home, it occasionally feels like overkill in audio format. Still, the payoff is worth it. The section on *proactive* (not reactive) planning alone—where Greene walks through scripting conversations with students—should be required listening for every educator. This isn’t just a book to *read*; it’s one to pause, rewind, and practice. If you’ve ever felt like you’re failing a kid (or vice versa), this might be the reset button you need.
