Lucifer's Hammer

Listening to 'Lucifer's Hammer' is like being trapped in a post-apocalyptic movie, but one where the special effects are top-notch and the characters are compelling. Vietor's narration is a powerhouse, his deep, resonant voice capturing the grim determination of the survivors. He expertly differentiates characters, from the stoic, resourceful George to the panicked, desperate looters. The pacing is relentless, balancing the slow burn of the survivors' struggles with the explosive action of the disasters. However, some of the scientific explanations can feel a bit info-dumpy, and a few characters' arcs could use more nuance. But these are minor quibbles in an otherwise gripping, white-knuckle listen.
