I was hooked from the start by Alex's relatable desire to become a wizard, and his journey is a wild ride filled with twists I didn't see coming. Travis Baldree's narration is exceptional, bringing a raw, visceral energy to the action sequences that had me on the edge of my seat. His ability to convey Alex's emotional journey is equally impressive, making me truly invested in Alex's fate. The pacing is near-perfect, balancing action and character development seamlessly. My only critique is that some of the world-building info dumps could have been integrated more smoothly into the narrative. Overall, Mark of the Fool is a thrilling, unique fantasy adventure that I can't recommend enough.
