The pacing of the audiobook is well-suited to the gripping story, with English's voice never losing its energy even as Mawson's team faces the harshest conditions the Antarctic can muster. A minor drawback is the occasional lack of distinction between characters' voices, making it harder to follow dialogue-heavy sections. However, this is a small issue in an otherwise outstanding production.
